I suspect there are quite a few woodworkers out there who are convinced that I have lost the plot a long time ago. If you are one of them, then this post will be the final evidence you need.
I have a problem in that my shop has a concrete floor. It has caused quite a bit of unnecessary swearing and sharpening after dropping a chisel or a plane blade. My slightly camp quick-fix solution to the problem was to cut appropriately sized chucks off this hideous old carpet to drape around my bench!
Now if that does not create a workshop ambiance for a real man, then I don’t know what will!
Hey Gerhard,
Now the girls are going to be mad that there was no carpet rolled out for them when you held the big bench inauguration bash!
Looks good. Well, I mean… It looks functional.
On a side note, now that the garage has carpet, does that mean the wife has to vacuum it? If so, you get the genius woodworker of the year award for worlds best dust collection system! I kid, I kid.
All the best,
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan
That is a brilliant comment, I had a good laugh. Even the wife enoyed it, so well done.
I like your bench dogs, they are without a doubt the best I have seen. I will put in a order for some.
Cheers brother.
That is perhaps the ugliest carpet I have ever seen.
Well done!
Hi Brian
I am glad you like it. The carpet graced our house when we first looked at buying it almost 5 years ago. The wife had it replace even before we moved in. Now I use it as a deterrent to keep visitors to the shop at a minimum.
It seems to work like a charm. The only downside so far is that I have to take antiemetic medication before going to the shop myself!
Thanks for your comment, brother.
